Off-Side Undo - February 7, 2005

Saturday January 15th the EMC held it 2005 Kick-Off meeting.

Eighteen hardy souls showed up for our lunch at Archestratus for some great food and conversation.  If I'm not mistaken 5 showed up in the proper auto with Ronnie and Haven Stuckey getting the high mileage award for driving their B down from Kosciusko.

We discussed our trip to Gene Ponder's Museum in Marshall, TX and everyone is really looking forward to that trip on the 12th of February.  By my count we had about 20 folks signed up.  This will be the road trip that you'll be sorry you missed and I'll be updating the readers here soon with all the fun incurred along the way.

Next up is Tech Session I for 2005 down at Eddiceton - the LBC center of MS - set for February 19.  I received a call from Jim Enzman this week and he's got an engine pull set up for his GT.  He indicated that other than the engine and a few essentials under the hood it's 'bout down to the shell.

Ron and Haven updated us on progress for the 2005 Drive Thru History and it's looking like another great one. We'll start at the Natchez Trace Welcome Center in Ridgeland, head to Kosciusko where you'll find out what a chicken catcher really is then head down to Meridian to drop in on the Singing Brakeman Museum and other sites.  Ron and Haven have some really kinky roads laid out for your enjoyment.

I've had both my MG's out the last couple of days and both are running well without the least amount of assistance from me.  Hopefully they'll both stay that way but I do have an OD to update to Ole Red.  Dennis Loftin is sitting on go for the engine pulling on his Jag.  I'm sure we'll hear updates on his progress and as I get news I'll post it along.  Brother Clay and I made a run over to Grapevine TX just before Christmas and picked up a MG for recreational purposes.  He's been engaged ever since with the chores of cleaning and sorting. Allen Spragins has delivered his B to Sports and Imports in Memphis and Tom Bedenbaugh is working his magic on it and Jake Weaver continues progress on his TR 6.

Remember we have our regularly scheduled Tech Sessions but if you need a hand or someone (singular or plural) to keep the cooler from floating off let me know.

If you've got a project going that's of interest pass it on.

Happy Motoring
