Men In Green Ha Ha Ho
Ho He He
The EMC began our Tech Sessions
on February 17, 2007. Our merry
little band of wrench twisters
magically appeared at the home of
Jim and Faye Enzman’s down in the
land of Eddiceton to assist with the
re-install of the power unit into
their MGBGT.
Fourteen members made the date.
Douglas Thomas made the gathering in
his ‘65 Austin Healey 3000. Glad you
made it over Doug, everyone really
enjoyed your company and the chance
to see your Healey.
Jim almost sweep the floor,
leaving a little of the magic dust
(blasting sand) around to ensure
that there were no knuckle-bustings
or limbs lost. When transmission
cross member replacement time came
Mike Glore and I crawled under the
car for the full dusting in to
install the cross member. We
completed our task in very short
order.
Doug McAdam’s worked some
miracles on the normally
recalcitrant cross member. I’ll
never even think about replacing a B
cross member without the
modifications for ease of
installation nuts on the
transmission mount. I've been made
cross on more than one occasion
laying on my back looking up in all
sorts of contortions wondering how
much they paid the factory employee
that assembled the cross member. MG
must have had a shift or two of
Leprechauns for this job at the
factory.
Food of course was a great draw
for everyone and the amount and
quality of same didn’t disappoint.
On March 17, 2007 The EMC held
our usual Tops Down Celebration in
combination with the St. Patrick’s
Day gathering at the home of Pat and
Barbara Cashman’s in Vicksburg. Pat
and Barbara put on a great spread of
food and drink for their neighbors
and the EMC.
Club members Richard Poole and
Bruce Richards arrived in great
style with Richard in his 1965 Land
Rover Dormobile and Bruce in his
very very nice 1965 Sunbeam Tiger.
Under orders of Keith Anderson
those present raised a toast to the
Vernal Equinox and EMC’s move into
spring. With the command given
canvas tops were lowered and spring
was officially recognized as
underway.
As a special guest Pat and
Barbara invited the Leprechaun of
Central Mississippi to the
celebration to look over the LBC’s
present and make recommendations for
upkeep and maintenance for the
upcoming year and to ensure there
where no foolish nor flighty members
amongst the EMC.
Several members of the club were
determined to be trusted by the
little fella and given the
opportunity to visit his ancient
treasure. I’m not sure if he passed
out a gold or silver shillings to
make his escape. I suppose we’ll
find out during upcoming gatherings.
On March 18, Keith Anderson,
Dennis Loftin and I met at the home
of Dan and Terri Ewert for a cookout
and gathering with the kids from The
Baptist Children’s Home in Clinton
MS.
Dan is an originating member in
good standing with the Primo’s Early
Breakfast Car Club and organized the
gathering of cars from several local
car clubs to share the auto
experience with these kids. Goodie
bags were provided for the kids,
they got to sit in several different
marques pressing the go pedal and
listening to the engine roar. The
kids, all of us really enjoyed the
experience.
Thanks for the invite Dan and
Terri, the EMC really enjoyed
participating.

Ron, along with ceremony chair lady
Haven, have pointed the compass
toward the west along the
Mississippi River with anticipated
stops in and around the Vicksburg
