All the EMC
news that is the news.
Hope everyone is having ample opportunity to stay
indoors and avoid the heat. My B's are currently
undercover and don't come out too often. Late evening
and early am, just to keep the cobwebs down and the dust
bunnies running.
Jim Enzman and I made a run down to Vidalia on the 22nd
of this month to initiate some ground work for our Sept
25, 2004 show. Jim as made a subsequent visit and
indicates that the folks involved are very excited that
we'll be joining the Jim Bowie Fest this year.
We've checked out the available areas at the festival
site with the organizers and looks like we'll have a
location on The River with shade trees a plenty at the
south end of The River View RV Park and Resort.
Jim and I measured the distance, it's exactly 1 mile
south of the hotel to the Resort Office, as a dog runs
on the levee.
On Friday night passes will be made available for the
VIP festivities at the festival site. We're checking on
availability of food vendors at the VIP festivities.
You'll need to provide your own adult beverages. We
understand that live music will be provided.
Saturday Chief of Police Frank Webb will escort us on a
parade thru Vidalia and onto the show grounds.
On Saturday night after the show there'll be a band at
the amphitheater near the host hotel.
Security will be provided both nights for those staying
at the hotel.
Mary Katherine is completing the registration forms for
mailing and I'll get with David to get those updated on
the website.
I checked the Comfort Suites this evening 800-260-2715.
Rooms are still available.
We're still working on details so stay tuned.
If you have questions or suggestions or feel the nudge
of volunteerism please jump in.
OTHER NEWS
Blake Sonnier and I met at fellow EMC'ers Gerry
Masterman's in Prairieville LA on July 24 for a tech
session on Gerry's MGB GT. When I arrived, late as
usually Blake and Gerry had already dropped the engine
in but there was plenty to do. When we put the wrenches
down Gerry's wife Jackie had cooked us a fantastic
dinner of fried shrimp and her special salmon cakes.
Man what a meal. When Blake and I departed Gerry was
left with some electrical and carb issues to sort out.
We reminded Gerry that there were only nine weekends to
Brits By The River and looked forward to seeing he and
Jackie idling up in their GT.
Brits By The River is promising to be a great show hope
all in receipt can attend.
If you need additional info please get in touch with
anyone involved please e-mail or give a call.
Happy Motoring
