I think I'm losing track of time.
Brits by the River is 25 days away according to my
calendar.
On August 21 an even dozen met at Gravity Coffeehouse in
downtown Clinton MS. We covered some final notes in
preparation for our show. John Turberville has had a
couple of new banners printed that'll let everyone know
who we are and what we're about.
Pat unveiled the new award plaques with artwork by
daughter Amanda. They are very nice and will definitely
personalize our show for 2004. A big thank you to Amanda
for providing the artwork.
Those that didn't make it missed a great meal at
Gravity. If you’re in the area you should really stop by
and give it a try. The environment is … unique? and fun
- definitely not a cookie cutter restaurant.
Mary Katherine has sent me the following note:
We currently have 13 pre-registered for Brits by the
River. We have plenty of "stuff" for our goodie bags for
this year, thanks to the Cashmans, Mike Sitton, and
mostly to Ron and Haven. They brought me bags of give-aways
last weekend.
I received a call over the weekend from an all time
great collector Barry Schmidt. He has collected lots of
very nice door prizes and continues his hard work on
developing something for everyone.
I'll be leaving the Jackson area sometime around lunch
on Friday the 24th headed for Vidalia. I've got no firm
time but thought a good meeting time might be at 1:00pm
at the 1st pullover on the left after you get on the
Trace at Raymond/Clinton from I-20.
If anyone has other times, let me know an I'll put
together a list of meeting times and places for those
leaving earlier or later and send them out a week or so
before the event.
The folks down in Vidalia are really looking forward to
having us down so plan on a weekend of fun and
hospitality.
