Another Fine Year

November 17 was the final tech session for the EMC. The gathering down in Eddiceton at Jim and Faye Enzman’s resulted in no casualties, I am proud to report as everyone escaped from a successful windshield installation on the Enzman’s MGB GT. I’m told the car is VERY YELLOW and a sight to see. I expect that we’ll see the new GT on the road during the spring, perhaps in time for Tops Down....Jim?

Sixteen members of the EMC and friends gathered for the 2007 Christmas celebration in Vicksburg MS on December 3 at the garage of Pat and Barbara Cashman.

I was happy to announce that the EMC has amassed 65 memberships during 2007 which is an increase of 3 memberships over 2007. That’s great news for our club that’s spread over the state and around the country. Our newest member, Reggie Humphries joined during November and hails from Ruston LA. I’ve sent Reggie a note of welcome and inviting him to join our events during 2008.

Also I was happy to announce that the 2008 Brits By The River picked up two new participants bringing our total to 51. We’re holding our own and that’s something we can be proud of as a club.

Barbara updated everyone on the treasury. As we exit 2007 we’re maintaining ourselves financially another positive for the EMC.

With the old business behind us we moved on to plans for 2008.

With some increase in cost occurring just about everywhere we’ve anticipated some increases that will come to affect the EMC during 2008. It’s been approximately five years since the club make the decision to increase dues. During the December meeting it was recommended and approved that beginning with 2008 the dues for membership in the EMC will increase to $30.00.

Notices will be sent out during January with request that dues be paid by April 1, 2008.

Also for 2008 we began work on our yearly calendar. See the end of this note for upcoming dates and details for gatherings of the EMC.

Following a great Christmas meal everyone trundled out to assist Pat with a little brake repair on his Studebaker Hawk getting safe pedal up in a few short strokes.

The Christmas gathering was a great way to end another great year for the EMC we missed those that couldn’t join us and hope that you can make our gatherings in 2008.

Here’s to 2008 and plans for another great year of life on the road of Mississippi with the English Motoring Club.
